Nestled in the picturesque village of Dunlavin, Co. Wicklow, Tynte House is a lovingly preserved, award-winning early 19th century farmhouse. Highly rated for it’s hospitality and just an hour away from Dublin city’s airport and ferry port, Tynte House is an ideal touring base for many of Wicklow and Kildare’s famous beauty spots such as Russborough, Glendalough and the Wicklow Gap. Excellent golf courses are also nearby.
…The house is decorated to the highest standards and is recognised for it’s cosy atmosphere. Downstairs there is a spacious drawing room where one can read or play cards in front of a cosy open fire. On the grounds there is an all weather tennis court, a barbecue area, an indoor games room with table tennis,billiards and a well equipped
play area for the kids! Dunlavin itself, with it’s unusually wide streets and the unique Market House, dating back to 1740, will reveal the character and ‘characters’ that make up an Irish village. A warm welcome from the publicans is assured and the music and song will make for a very enjoyable evening.
John and Caroline Lawler will welcome you to this splendid guesthouse (English, French and Spanish are spoken), where antique furnishings, log fires and traditional home cooking echo the relaxed atmosphere enjoyed here for over a century. All bedrooms are ensuite and are tastefully decorated with antique furnishings and have TV’s, Coffee and tea making facilities, dial direct phones and clock radio’s, etc…
